So, how do you become a better encourager? Well, it’s relatively easy, but we so often do not make time to do it. It can be as simple as making a phone call, sending an email, sending a text—and all of those are great ways to encourage others. However, there is just something so special, yet different, about getting a card, isn’t there?
Cards say more than I care about you and what you are going through. They say that I care so much I took the time out of my schedule to pick out a card just for you, hand write my words of love, and send it to you. In my opinion, it says I care enough to be inconvenienced for “you”, maybe. It says I care enough that I want you to know “here is what is in my heart for you. Please receive it as something I truly want you to know and hear.” (DaySpring)
So, I was thrilled when DaySpring sent me this cute little packet of greeting cards to review!
It's a "Friendship Pack" to be used for friends who are going through a rough patch or for who you just want to know you are thinking of/praying for.

I like to use my cards to send something to people that I know are probably lost. That way, when they come to me to thank me or to ask about the verse or Scripture I enclosed, I have an open door to share Jesus and His love for them!
I am posting this for Deidre, who is a kind and loving spirit that uses her cards to lift up others! (She couldn't get this to work earlier and is currently on an airplane to Houston, so I thought I would be nice and enter her!!)
I would encourage people at church. I posted earlier this week that I have been discouraged myself because I have been out with sick kids and felt no one cared. I know they do but we get so busy sometimes we forget what a simple card can do to light up someone's day and in fact a card, call or text can make an enormous difference in someone's life. Believe me I know! So because of my own discouragement I decided I would turn it to good after reading your last post and decided that instead of staying frustrated and discouraged I would use this as a lesson to be sure that I encourage others. I will send these cards out to people that are not at church and send an encouraging word. I know that a simple word can mean the world to someone and it would let them know they are missed and being thought of. I know that would have made a world of difference for me!
I am always looking for cards to send to comfort, encourage, provide a little humor, or emphathize with friends, acquaintances, and family. I send many cards to my patients, who are seriously ill, just to let them know that their nurse cares about them! Especially I like to send cards to people who are alone, so that they won't FEEL alone. It makes my heart happy!
